My Happy Mind

What is myHappymind?

myHappymind is an NHS-backed programme used in schools to support children’s mental health, wellbeing, resilience, self-esteem and happiness. It is based on neuroscience and positive psychology, helping children understand how their brain works and how they can build positive habits for life.

At Lindhead, myHappymind supports our wider PSHE, safeguarding and personal development work by giving children shared language and practical strategies to understand feelings, manage worries, build confidence and develop positive relationships.

There are 5 modules:

Meet Your Brain

Children learn how their brain works and how to manage emotions and responses.

Celebrate

Children focus on recognising their strengths and celebrating achievements.

Appreciate

Children develop gratitude and learn to focus on positive experiences.

Relate

Children learn about kindness, friendships and healthy relationships.

Engage

Children build resilience, perseverance and goal-setting skills.

How myHappymind supports school life

myHappymind is not just a one-off topic. Children have lessons in school, but the habits and language are used more widely through assemblies, classroom routines, pastoral support and everyday conversations.

The programme helps children to know what to do when they feel worried or stressed, improve focus, work towards goals, build relationships and feel positive about who they are.

Working together with parents and carers

Parents and carers can also access the free myHappymind Parent App, which includes resources to help families understand what children are learning in school and continue the conversations at home. The parent poster below explains that the app is designed to support families to learn more about using myHappymind to support their child.
