The School Day - Current Timings and School Opening Hours
"Schools should publish on their website their opening and closing times and the total time this amounts to in a typical week (for example 32.5 hours). Schools should show the compulsory times they are open. This time runs from the official start of the school day (morning registration) to the official end of the compulsory school day. It includes breaks, but not optional before or after school activities." Dfe 2022
- Children can arrive at school as from 8.35am, and should be in school and ready to start learning at 8.45am. 8.45am is the official start of the school day.
- To help with this, classrooms and doors will be open as from 8.35am, but please note there is no supervision on-site before that time.
- Pupils arriving after 8:45am should report to the school office as they will be required to sign in and provide a reason for the lateness. Gates will be locked shortly after 8.45am.
- Any child arriving between 8:45 and 9:30am will be marked as Late. Any child arriving after 9:30am will be marked as unauthorised absence for the whole morning session. (These are statutory arrangements).
Morning Break - 10.15am - 10.30am
Assembly - 9.00am - 9.15am
Lunch - 12.00pm - 1.00pm
End of the School Day: All year groups finish at 3.15pm. This is the official end of the compulsory school day. Reception, Year 1 and 2 will be brought to the gates for one-to-one handover. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be released from their classroom’s external doors. (They will be told to return to the school office if their usual going home arrangements go wrong in any way).
Our school opening hours, 8.45am until 3.15pm, add up to a total time of 32.5 hours in a typical week.
