Science
At Lindhead, our Science curriculum is broadly based on the Kapow Primary scheme of work and is supported by our own progression documents for scientific knowledge, vocabulary and working scientifically.
Science helps children to explore the world around them, ask questions, test ideas, observe carefully, gather evidence and explain what they find out. Across biology, chemistry and physics, children build knowledge over time and learn how scientists use enquiry to understand the world.
The document below gives parents and carers an overview of the key Science learning from EYFS to Year 6. Teachers may adapt the order, emphasis or selected activities to meet the needs of their class, make meaningful links with wider curriculum themes, and respond to pupils’ prior learning. The overview should therefore be read as a guide to the core knowledge, skills and experiences children will encounter across school.
